What is HOOYAH?
Navy and SEAL battle cry — expression of enthusiasm, motivation, and acknowledgment.
Definition
HOOYAH is the Navy and Naval Special Warfare community's battle cry and affirmation. It's used throughout the Navy but has particular power in SEAL culture, where it signals mutual motivation during the brutal training of BUD/S. When an instructor yells HOOYAH and a class responds in unison, it's both a physical and psychological rallying event.
